Many petroleum-based lubricants do not contain rust or corrosion inhibitors, will migrate
and weep, will harm wood in contact with the lubricant, and will leave a residue or
varnish when they evaporate. Oils containing Teflon, Moly, etc.will leave sludge behind
when the carrier oil evaporates which can bind and stiffen the key action.
DaVinci Wood Cleaner
Similar to an exclusive formulation similar to those used by many museums to remove
old wax, grime. and unclog wood pores to allow the wood to “breathe” again. Will not
dissolve shellac or varnish but will remove organic waxes, and accumulated dirt. Waxes
and other organic materials can form acidic residues that break down wood structure over
time.
DaVinci CLEAR & BLACK Woodwind Wax
The CLEAR wax is a similar formulation used by the world’s largest museums to
enhance the depth of luster, and enhance the delicate wood grain of precious wood
artifacts. This wax will not form acidic byproducts (it is pH neutral) and, although
repelling water, allows the wood to “breathe” and maintain the proper moisture and oil
balance within the wood. This wax is very expensive to produce but a little bit goes a
long way and maintains a renewable “glass clear” finish for a long time. Will not show
fingerprints like other waxes. Good for key work too.
The BLACK wax is a unique formulation used by CLARINETS4SALE. This wax will
return your clarinet back to it's natural black color. So if you have faded areas use this.
